About Jennifer Jennifer Layne Park a.k.a. Jennee Jamz is an accomplished actress, vocalist and lyricist. She has performed for crowds in London, Japan, New York, Philadelphia and Chicago. Her work has been featured on internationally released recordings, in films and even on underground rap mixtapes. Miss Park began her performing career as the lead singer for the Smash Everyone Jazz Unit, a free jazz/punk rock ensemble that took improvisation and performance art to an extreme. After the group disbanded, Jennifer Layne Park embarked on a career as a solo artist. She studied vocal technique and jazz performance with Elohim, who is her mentor to this day. Miss Park also studied jazz singing and performance with the late Ricardo Martin, former musical director of the Duke Ellington Orchestra. In Chicago, she studied with Grammy winner Jay Clayton and legendary jazz musician Floyd Standifer, who performed with the late, great Lady Day, Billie Holiday. Miss Park furthered her studies in the bel canto style of vocal technique with opera singer Arcenia Roshal. "I was fortunate to learn from the best of the best. I took what they taught me and ran with it," she says. Her friendship with the musicians in the notorious phenomenon known as Ink and Dagger lead to Miss Park’s first recording. Sean Patrick McCabe, the illustrious front man for Ink and Dagger, asked her to collaborate on a song for their album called THE FINE ART OF ORIGINAL SIN.
She wrote her lyrics and sang on the song "We Live Despite Their Schemes." Miss Park recalls the experience fondly saying, "I will always be grateful to Ink and Dagger for giving me the opportunity to make one of my dreams come true. I will never forget the first time I saw the album for sale in Tower Records. It was amazing. I still get e-mail from fans telling me how much they love Ink and Dagger, and how much they loved what I did on that song. It’s an honor to me." Jennifer Layne Park is now a professional actress and was named one of the "20 Hottest New Stars," along with notable luminaries such as Amy Adams and Anne Hathaway in the September 2006 movie issue of PENTHOUSE. "Yes, I got in PENTHOUSE magazine with my clothes ON," she says with a laugh. Music continues to be one of Miss Park’s passions. She co-wrote and sang a song for the soundtrack in her new movie PLACEBO. She is currently working on new original material with producer Obvious Bane. Her original spoken word piece called LOVE (FOR SEAN) appears on the TIL DEATH DO WE PART mixtape released by Slumlord for Truth Management. Jennifer Layne Park considers herself a soul singer, because no matter what genre of music she is performing, she always sings from her soul. "I don’t know how to sing any other way than straight from my soul. I hope that all the heart and soul I put into my vocal performances touches other people’s souls and makes them feel something. It’s a way of letting people know that we are not alone, we are all connected, and music is a gift for our hearts."
